Prairie Good Hair Salon is a cozy 70s inspired salon in the heart of Black Diamond nested in the foothills of Alberta, only 45 mins SW of Calgary. Erica and Jacquey specialize in giving a great experience to their guests in an unconventional salon environment that is down to earth and welcoming to all.

 

Erica has been working behind the chair as a hairstylist for the past 15 years. She went to hair school in Vancouver and worked as a hairstylist for 3 years before moving back to her home town of Calgary were she continued to expand her education in all things hair.

Erica moved to Black Diamond in 2021 with her husband and three kids . Shortly after she met Jacquey and their love of art, music and fashion made them good friends and began an apprenticeship in the hair industry.

​

Jacquey has lived in Black Diamond since 2016 with her husband and 2 kids. After working in the hospital as a unit clerk for many years, Jacquey was ready for a new more fulfilling career where her artistic and creative energies could be used.

​

She has been apprenticing under Erica's mentorship since June 2022 and has completed all her schooling and exam, and became a red seal lincesed hairstylist in June 2024.

 

We are passionate about giving you great hair and a great experience. We will take the time to listen to what you want and clearly communicate how we can achieve your hair goals. We will always make sure you leaving feeling like your best self!

 

At Prairie Good, we believe that consulting is key to a great haircut, so we always cut with purpose and explain what what we are doing and why. We love working with your natural hair texture and teaching you how to work with it too. We will also demonstrate how to style your hair and give you the chance to get your hands in there to practice a new styling technique before you leave the chair.

 

Creating colours that work with your personality and lifestyle our aim. At Prairire Good, we are transparent about our prices and time so that you can prepare for your appointments, so don't hesitate to ask! We will also guide you and give you options on how to achieve your hair goals.

 

Erica specialize in cutting curly hair, creating healthy blondes, lived in balayage, hair extensions, styling and updos and particularly creative colours. But she also get excited about rich brunettes, coppers, and traditional highlights as well as all cuts!

Jacquey is proficient in all cutting, highlighting, balayage, solid colouring, and working on vivids and and creative colours.
